Different types of Computer Network
For some time, computers have become a very important part of the business. Computer installation, support, and maintenance are all services required by all organizations. As businesses grow, the number of computers in the organization also increases. It is necessary to establish a systematic way of connecting these computers to work seamlessly. Thus, computers are connected in a variety of ways. This is the concept of a computer network.
What is a computer network?
A computer network can be understood as a large number of computers connected together to share resources. The most common resource shared by the internet. Other resources can be printers, file servers, etc. Computers in the network can be connected via Ethernet cable or wirelessly via radio waves.
We will now see how individual computers in the network are connected:
Computers connected to a network are called nodes.
Star Topology:
In this case, there is a central node where the connection is provided to individual computers. In this case, even if there is a problem with a particular cable, some computers can continue to operate without interruption. On the flip side, this type of connection requires a lot of cables.
Bus Topology:
In this case, all computers are connected by a single cable. Data created for the last computer needs to go across all nodes. The big advantage is that it needs less cabbage. However, if there is a cable error, all computers are affected.
Rings Topology:
In this topology, all computers are connected by a single cable. Storage areas are also connected to each other. The signal rotates over the network to reach the intended recipient. In the event that a network node is set incorrectly or there is another problem, the signal will make multiple attempts to find the intended recipient.
Collapsed Ring Topology:
In this case, the central node is a network device known as a hub, router, or switch. This device runs on a ring with wired plugins. Also, each computer is connected independently to the device using individual cables.
Each organization selects its own computer network topology to ensure the smooth operation of its computers. Once computers are connected, offices also have separate cabinets, which are spacious with switching devices that connect to the network.
There are many computer network companies that provide installation, maintenance, and support services to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of your systems.
Ntelligent Networks is a Lakeland Florida-based company that provides computer support services. They offer computer networks and business organizations.
